I am a Registered Practical Nurse and a Certified Holistic Doula. I was born and raised in beautiful British Columbia on Vancouver Island where I studied to become a doula and a nurse. I have a passion for the beginning of life and the end of life. The trees I grew up around rooted calm and joyful energy in me and a strong connection to the circle of life. I come from a family of nurses and one of my love language is truly acts of service. I have a true calling to help others from all walks of life. As a nurse, I could see that people are looking for clear, simple information when dealing with heart wrenching and challenging experiences. People need someone to see them as individuals, not patients! Each person needs real care, the kind that goes deeper than a bandaid. These needs are true to everyone.
That was the exact moment it all changed for me. When I decided I want to help others
I think it was a series of events that helped keep me in this profession. The need to see more education out there for people experiencing these incredible and heart-wrenching moments in life.
For me watching the first breath of air enter this world or watching someone’s last breath is special to me. It is never easy but incredible to be able to help hold space for these moments in people’s lives.
